[Wash hadn't figured the inexorable force of nature, dickish as it was, to be the same as another human pulling the trigger, but his lack of experience with that form of death doesn't invalidate Alex's overabundance of experience with it.]

Just because it could've been worse doesn't mean it wasn't bad. It's okay to be messed up over it.
